Stannah was founded by Joseph Stannah in 1867, remains independent and family-run, and introduced stairlifts to the UK in the early 1970s. It offers straight, curved and outdoor stairlifts as new, rental or reconditioned models, with finance options. The first step is a free in-home survey, where an adviser measures your staircase and provides a written quote. Stannah states membership of the British Healthcare Trades Association and the Trading Standards Buy With Confidence scheme. Its long history and large service network mean spare parts and servicing are likely to remain available for years.
