Acorn Stairlifts
One of the largest UK stairlift makers, with a one-hour home survey and next-day installation available.
Acorn Mobility Services Limited, based in Steeton, West Yorkshire, makes and fits stairlifts for straight, curved and outdoor staircases, and provides servicing and aftercare. It offers a free no-obligation quote following a home survey that takes about an hour, with next-day installation available — useful if someone has come out of hospital and cannot manage the stairs now rather than in six weeks. Acorn states BHTA membership under the BHTA Trading Standards approved Code of Practice, Which? Trusted Trader endorsement, the Government-endorsed TrustMark, and the Trading Standards Buy With Confidence scheme.

Before you commit
- Get a written quotation. Never agree a price on the doorstep or over the phone.
- Take your time. A genuine company won't pressure you with a "today only" discount.
- Ask a family member or friend to be there for the visit if you can.
- Ask for the VAT relief form if you have a long-term illness or disability.
- You normally have 14 days to cancel an order agreed at home or online, but made-to-measure items can be an exception — get the cancellation terms in writing.
